The Miami CTSI invites you to join its Team Science Seminar Series on Monday, November 4 at 4 p.m.
Joon Chung, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Informatics and Health Data Science in the Miller School of Medicine, will present Multi-dimensional and multi-modal data science and applications.
Technologies to measure health are decreasing in cost, while rapidly increasing in sophistication and the amount and diversity of data they generate. This talk covers benefits and challenges of utilizing multiple health metrics (multi-dimensional) measured using multiple modes of measurement (multi-modal) to generate novel clinical and translational insights. Using data from sleep and circadian studies, the talk will range from theory construction to metric selection and modeling.
About the Speaker
Dr. Chung was trained a sociologist of health for his PhD at Emory and trained further in sleep and circadian science at Harvard Medical School before joining the University of Miami. He focuses on the intersection between the Social Determinants of Health, sleep and circadian rhythms, and cardiometabolic disease using novel data science approaches.
