Consultation Services and Support

The CTSI can assist study teams with development, review, and improvement of recruitment plans. We can perform a root-cause analysis to identify obstacles in recruitment. In addition, we can help determine optimal recruitment strategies by analyzing variables such as patient population, medical condition being researched, personnel, equipment, budget, and more. Support and consultation on research design, biostatistics, proposal development, manuscript writing, data analysis and novel analytical methods development is offered through the CTSI’s partnership with the Biostatistics Collaboration and Consulting Core. Consultations for a range of grant and research writing needs such as grant applications, manuscript preparations, scientific writing and more is available to help Miller School of Medicine faculty researchers, post-doctoral fellows and graduate students. Learn more

REDCap is a secure, web-based application for data collection where users can build and manage online surveys and databases. Among other services, it offers a platform to create electronic case report forms to capture clinical data into a database for prospective, retrospective and/or longitudinal research.

The CTSI’s Informatics Program together with UHealth IT’s Department of Data Science and Research Informatics supports the research data needs for University of Miami investigators. This includes provisioning data for research from UChart, data management, analytics environments, data science resources, and comprehensive education and consultation to advance clinical and translational research.

Department staff are available during weekly office hours to review research data requests or discuss your potential needs for the other services we offer. For consultation on how to improve the quality of regulatory adherence in clinical research protocols and assure participant safety through data and safety monitoring planning and implementation, particularly at the time of study development. Email [email protected] for assistance and information.

The CTSI’s ISP (Integrating Special Populations) program is now offering consultations to investigators doing research across the lifespan and with minority and special populations such as children and older adults.
