Eureka Career Development Program at Miami: Insights and Path Forward

On Saturday, April 29, 2023, Miami CTSI Connection members and past scholars of the Eureka Institute for Translational Medicine, with a commitment and shared passion for translational endeavors, came together at the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences to discuss a future path for the Eureka Career Development Program at the University of Miami.

Miami CTSI Co-Director Dr. Olveen Carrasquillo provided the welcome and opening remarks, highlighting some of the programs and initiatives of impact as the CTSI kicks off its new grant.

Dr. Berent Prakken, Vice-Dean and Director of the Biomedical Education Centre at the Utrecht Medical Center and Founder of the Eureka Certificate Program, was a special guest. He shares a committment to helping build a framework for a Miami program and helped to facilitate discussions.

Dr. Suhrud Rajguru, Co-Director of the CTSI’s Workforce Development Program and Eurekan Scholar, told the group, “It is clear that we are all excited by the unique and diverse community of researchers at UM. We are ready to build upon our strengths and synergistic programs for a broader impact regionally and globally.”
