The Collaboration and Multidisciplinary Team Science initiative develops strategies and builds infrastructure to foster multidisciplinary collaboration and to promote the importance of team science.

The main goals are to:

  • Provide consultation and training
  • Fund projects that advance science translation

Dean’s Interdisciplinary Research Seminar Series
Monthly lecture series in conjunction with the Office of Dean Henri R. Ford that highlights innovative, collaborative, translational research conducted by University of Miami faculty across all its disciplines.

I-Corps@NCATS
The I-Corps@NCATS Regional Short Course is a team-based, five-week course geared toward faculty and researchers engaged in development of novel therapies, diagnostics, processes, and devices. The program guides teams through the early stages of customer discovery where they can test the business model hypotheses for their technology or idea.

Eureka Institute International Certificate Program in Translational Medicine
Since 2016, the CTSI has partnered with the Eureka Institute to sponsor faculty to attend this training opportunity in translational science held annually in Italy where participants analyze the business, scientific and regulatory aspects of translational science; develop communication skills for presenting complex scientific ideas; and analyze effective manuscript preparation and begin to apply the concepts to their own work.

C2C: Concept to Commercialization
A regular series of one-hour seminars focused on the commercialization process regarding intellectual property and business concepts. Topics include all aspects of commercialization including basics of technology transfer, patent filing requirements and strategies, funding start-up companies, technology marketing and many other topics.
