Suhrud Rajguru, Ph.D., has joined the CTSI’s Translational Workforce Development Program as its new Co-Director. Dr. Rajguru will lead the program with fellow Co-Directors Tatjana Rundek, M.D., Ph.D., and Alessia Fornoni, M.D., Ph.D.
The CTSI’s Translational Workforce Development (TWD) Program supports the advancement of the next generation of interdisciplinary translational research leaders. It offers a wide range of education, training, career development, and mentoring opportunities to the University’s faculty, students and clinical research professionals.
“I am excited to help lead the CTSI’s TWD Program and develop initiatives that help students, post-docs, residents and junior faculty successfully transition to productive careers,” said Dr. Rajguru. “The CTSI has had a tremendous impact on my own career. And I hope to bring many of our educational, training, and mentoring programs that benefited me personally together to support investigators engaged in team science across the University of Miami.”
In his new capacity, he will take the helm of chairing the CTSI’s Connection Advisory Board which engages other UM schools and colleges in career development initiatives for early-stage investigators.
In addition to this position, Dr. Rajguru is the Assistant Director of the Collaboration and Multidisciplinary Team Science Program where he leads the hub’s I-Corps@NCATS course for entrepreneurial researchers – now in its fourth year – and collaborates on the Dean’s Interdisciplinary Research Seminar Series.
He is also Co-Director of the Institute for Neural Engineering and Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Otolaryngology at the Miller School of Medicine.
