Feb. 14: Dean Henri R. Ford’s Inaugural Interdisciplinary Research Lecture Series

On Thursday, February 14, the Office of Dean Henri R. Ford in conjunction with the Miami CTSI will kick off an exciting new monthly lecture series highlighting innovative, collaborative, translational research being conducted by University of Miami faculty across all its disciplines.
Join us for the Dean’s Inaugural Interdisciplinary Research Seminar Series featuring Emmanuel Thomas, M.D., Ph.D., who will present An Integrated, Multidisciplinary Approach for the Prevention and Early Detection of Viral Hepatitis-induced Hepatocellular Carcinoma.
Dr. Thomas is a CTSI KL2 graduate, Co-director of the CFAR Comorbidities SAR, member of the Schiff Center of Liver Diseases and the Cancer Control Program in Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and alumni of the University of Miami MD and PhD programs.
He is also a Fellow of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (FAASLD) and serves on the National Board of the American Liver Foundation. He is funded through an NIH Outstanding Investigator Award (R35), Bankhead Coley Clinical Cancer Research Grant and the Gilead FOCUS program.
The lecture will take place at the Gordon Center for Research in Medical Education Auditorium from 12 to 1 p.m. A light lunch will be served before at 11:30 a.m. Please RSVP online here.
