Feb. 13: Why Translational Research Fails And What To Do About It
On Monday, February 13, 4 to 5 p.m., in the Lois Pope 7th Floor Auditorium, CTSI Eureka Program alumni Drs. Jae Lee and Emmanual Thomas will present “Why Translational Research Fails And What To Do About It.”
In this seminar, they will discuss the challenges in translational research, including hyper-competition for funding and the pressure to publish, that have led to an explosion in publications of low quality and limited societal impact as well as how these may be overcome.
A reception will follow for further discussion with faculty and students from 5 to 6 p.m. in the adjacent breakout room 7-10. Refreshments will be provided.
This seminar is presented by the American Physician-Scientist Association (APSA) – UMMSM Chapter and the Miami Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI).
